The Reno Chamber of Commerce has an excellent resource on retirement information for Reno. We’d recommend that you start there first. The areas around Reno/Sparks also have a lot of great things to offer.
If you’re still on the fence whether you’re choosing to retire in Northern Nevada, the national magazine, “Where to Retire” profiled Reno as a “hot town to snap up bargains now” in the January 2012 edition. It named Reno one of its eight top retirement destinations because of the real estate prices, proximity to plenty of active living opportunities, and all the activities the area has to offer. In 2014, Editor Annette Fuller said, in addition to tax breaks, “Reno offers other amenities that appeal to retirees – beautiful vistas, outdoor adventures, and cultural and social opportunities that keep retirees engaged with the community.”
